Asian Bay is an easy to use, free online system that enables people to sell their unwanted Asian items, such as DVDs, CDs, Posters etc
It was devised and coded in 2005/2006 by myself, who like many other people, was getting increasingly frustrated by the charges on E-Bay. Lets face it, if you have an item selling for a small price on E-Bay and have to re-list it several times, its simply not worth selling it as you end up giving it away.
After doing some research and seeing how many people had reverted to selling privately through forums, I thought it would be a great idea to
have a website where people could list their items at no charge and hopefully get their items seen by a wider audience. And so Asian Bay was born.

So how does Asian Bay work?
Firstly, you need to sign up for an Asian Bay account. This is free and takes only a few moments. Once this is done, you can list as many items as you want to, free of charge,
providing these items comply with my Listing Policy.
Once the item has been added and is active, it is viewable in the public domain. Note that only members can contact you about items you have for sale. Once you have been contacted, you can arrange payment for the item and then if the transaction has been concluded, remove this item from Asian Bay. Once the item has been paid for, you can send the buyer a feedback request. You can also leave feedback for the buyer.
There is no payment processing on Asian Bay as this site is targetted at people with single items for sale. This would make a cart system rather awkward as two people could try and buy the same item at the same time. You have no guarantees when someone contacts you, but this is the same with any private sale. Asian Bay is simply offered as a convenience to help you sell your items and nothing more. It is important you understand this.
Who is Asian Bay targetted at?
Asian Bay is targetted at people wanting to sell their second hand items. Everyone has items lying around they don`t want. This system is not targetted at traders. This doesn`t mean I discourage traders completely, but I want it to stay a market place and not turn into a shop.
Any member trying to sell bootleg items will have their account removed immediately. I are not fooled by the so called 'Brand New Sealed Copy' offers you see on E-Bay. 9 times out of 10, these ARE brand new and sealed, but brand new and sealed bootlegs.
Finally, as the site title employs, this is a site for Asian related items ONLY.
